Full Professor
A nurse scholar is being sought for the Crittenton Hospital Medical Center Endowed Professorship in Nursing. This position was developed for the purpose of designing and implementing a research infrastructure to support Relationship Based Care practices in the clinical environment and academia. Relationship Based Care (RBC) is a theoretical and operational model for care delivery being implemented at Crittenton Hospital Medical Center (CHMC) in partnership with Oakland University. The scholar will work with students and nurses from CHMC in enhancing and expanding intentional caring practices in healthcare. Candidates for the Endowed Professorship must have an earned doctorate in nursing as well as a record of successful teaching, scholarship, and service. Candidates must be an Associate or Full Professor who is eligible for tenure. Preference will be given to applicants who show evidence of scholarship focusing on caring theories and practices.

Armstrong Atlantic State University invites applications for a tenure-track position as the Department Head/Director of the Nursing Department and proposed School of Nursing within the College of Health Professions. The appointment will begin in July 1, 2012.
The Department Head/School of Nursing Director will be responsible for leadership in the administration and management of all nursing programs including a Master of Science in Nursing (Adult Nurse Practitioner, Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Nurse Administrator) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Pre-licensure and RN to BSN/MSN). The individual hired will be charged with transforming the department to the status of School of Nursing. Additionally, the department is in the process of developing a proposal for the practice doctorate. Total nursing enrollment is approximately 480 students. The Department Head/Director is responsible to the Dean of the College of Health Professions.
The Department consists of 26 full-time nursing faculty, 15 part-time faculty and 5 staff. Full-time faculty members have responsibilities in the areas of scholarship, advisement and service, as well as teaching.

Doctoral degree in nursing or related field. Master of Science in Nursing. Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Georgia. (Must be licensed in Georgia upon hire.) Must have completed at least 10 years of full-time teaching in baccalaureate and master's or doctoral nursing programs; demonstrated record of administrative leadership in a baccalaureate and/or graduate program; experience with nursing accreditation and regulatory bodies; demonstrated commitment to the promotion of faculty scholarly activities; and experience with writing and administering external grants. Demonstrated achievement of tenurability and scholarship at the level of associate professor or professor required.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation and credit check.
