Teleweb Series in Community Health

NONPF developed a series of complimentary Teleweb conferences to highlight issues in community health and the NP.   These conferences have been archived online.  Click on the titles for more information about each conference.

Teleweb 1: Population Focus in the NP Role: Fiction or Reality?
November 2, 2001
This conference includes an overview of contrasting views on the scope of population-focused care on the NP role and the role of the NP as a leader in community health.  It also includes a case study to demonstrate the benefit of incorporating community health content into direct NP care.

Teleweb 2: Connecting the Dots Between Community Health and NP Education: Strategies and Concepts for Integration
November 16, 2001
The second conference highlighted public and community health concepts to incorporate into NP education.  The speakers presented strategies for integrating community health into an NP curriculum, particularly addressing the differing backgrounds and specialty foci of NP students.

Teleweb 3: Models of Practice: Opportunities for Developing Community Health Leaders
December 7, 2001
The final conference discussed various models for community-based care and recognized the opportunities for leadership development for NPs in community health.
