Mary Anne Staudt Dumas, PhD, CFNP, Chairperson of the Preceptor Manual Committee, the group responsible for the manual's development, said: “The clinical education of nurse practitioner students is a partnership among the programs, faculty, preceptors, and students. This manual highlights this partnership and helps the partners to gain a better understanding of their respective roles.”

In addition to including modules targeted at each of the four functional programs within each school, the manual includes modules that highlight valuable resource material. Module VII includes a comprehensive list of references, and Module VIII includes appendices that range from preceptor forms to detailed student evaluation forms.

The recently published manual also includes a CD-ROM version to enable programs to customize the valuable evaluation and resource material.
