Faculty-to-Faculty Mentoring Program in Community Health
2002-2003

The third cohort of the Faculty-to-Faculty Mentoring Program was selected in February 2002.  Ten faculty members who participated in the Teleweb Series in Community Health and submitted abstracts of community health projects were chosen and matched with mentors at one of four mentor sites.  The mentors and participants came together for their first meeting on April 11, 2002, in conjunction with the 28th Annual Meeting in Minneapolis.  From that meeting, they worked to develop, implement, and evaluate their projects.  Several of the participants chose to visit their mentor site for more direct work with thier mentors.   The mentors and participants came together again at the 29th Annual Meeting in Philadelphia.  Each of the participants presented a poster on their community health project.  The 29th Annual Meeting also included a breakfast meeting that brought the current cohort of mentors and participants together with mentors and participants from previous cohorts.  The final project reports from the third cohort were compiled in a report, Community Health and Nurse Practitioner Education, which was distributed to the NONPF membership in July 2003.
